Shelley Mullins

Shelley Mullins has more than 17 years experience in public relations and business communications in the private and public sectors as both a consultant and an in-house communications practitioner. She is the founder of Mullins Communications, an independent Pubic Relations boutique providing senior level public relations and corporate communications counsel to emerging and established clients in a wide-range of sectors, including finance, high technology, health care and not-for-profit. She delivers integrated communications strategies to Mullins Capital Management.

“My role with Mullins Capital Management is two-fold: first, I need to effectively communicate the unique offering of the team to the Ottawa business and entrepreneurial community; and second, I need to ensure the methods of communications between the team and the clients are effective. These include the e-newsletter, the website, and periodic mailings. As well, with the explosive growth and impact of social media, I have helped Patrick to establish a blog. I am really here to provide communications support to the team so they can focus on their areas of expertise.”

Shelley graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton University and also holds an honours diploma in Public Relations from Algonquin College. Shelley and Patrick are enjoying being empty nesters as their daughter Alexandra recently graduated from Queen’s University and is currently obtaining her Masters from the Institute of Political Economy at Carleton University – their alma mater. Shelley is active with several local charities and always busy with the family’s two terriers. Her 10-year plan to master golf is still a work in progress, and may require more time than originally anticipated.
